These ‘flags’ need no wind

Camping near Elk Grove at Rancho Seco with Kate, our five year old Grand, I spied these as a challenge entry. Seems anything remotely like a flag qualifies.

As we are somewhat on the move, I have limited opportunities for bike riding, but the rides I have done here in California have been delightful. I have posted about some riding in and near Elk Grove  HERE. We have another couple of days before working our way home to Mukilteo. More time to enjoy the three Grands and to do at least one more bike ride nearby.

Looks like qualifying flags to me.

I must say, I had to go look up what the heck SMUD is — the Sacramento Metropolitan Utility District.
Now it makes sense with the solar panel and all.

Those who have PG&E are apparently the ones without power for days! SMUD customers are the fortunate ones who continue to have power. I don’t know why that is.

Got caught up on your West Coast Trip with the grands – what wonderful memories they will have as adults from these trips with you! Lots of educational and fun, scenic stuff. That bear would have been way too close for my liking, though!

Thanks Em. We love sharing with the Grands some good activities with some learning thrown in when possible. It has been a fun time with each of them. We leave them today and make our way (slowly) home. The bear was too close for my comfort as well!!
