This and That

I’ve been working on printing lately.

The last few weeks have been jam packed…..with rides but also with life. I have had to work a lot at the tasting room and Jack has been working extra shifts here in the park. Seems everyone needed to take vacation at the same time. We have been able to get our rides in but then instead of resting and surfing the net and writing up blogs we have had to just go off to work. Enough of that!! This week we should both get back to our normal retired way of being……..

New Veterans Cemetery in Ft Ord. I don’t even remember when we did this ride.

They used a lot of colorful flowers and took advantage of the native oaks. Beautiful grounds.

Jack found an interesting sign…….

Mushrooms grow big in Ft Ord!! Never have I ever….

We ended that ride with a concert in the park. These were high school kids and they were very very good.  Smooth Jazz.

Next ride was out to Pebble to check on the US Open staging…..staging was the word of the day. They built this marketing building that covered the entire Peter Hay Golf Course. I’m sure you can see it on TV this weekend.

Was going to take more photos of the US Open but it really is just a lot of big tents…..they say there will be 250,000 people here this weekend. The local papers scared all the locals so no one is out and about or shopping…I worked three days for nothing really. They bus everyone into PB and they stay there for the day so local business don’t get much of a bump in business. Yes, hotels and restaurants have been busy but that’s about it. The rest of all that money stays at Pebble Beach. Jack isn’t impressed.

This is on a house in Pebble Beach….

Found this at the Wharf Parking in Monterey on the way home. Have any of you used these guys?

While searching for “Old & New” on another quick ride I found this. Close right.

This is “Old – New and Newer” The little hut house is from the 1800’s the one directly in front maybe early 1900’s and the one off to the left was built a few years ago.

Oh yea this happened this week too. Happy to report I did not lose the tip of my pinky….close though.

This the most interesting plant find of late. Dr Seuss worthy and in front of my fav little house.

Well that’s all folks……..Happy Trails. Have any of you been following along with the two TransAm’s races this year? Some amazing performances going on. Check out the site.

Janet here of Jack and Janet in Seaside, CA. We just love to ride our bikes and share and read stories from other such afflicted souls.

Dare I ask what happened to your pinkie?

I am watching the U.S. Open on TV as I write this. Tiger Woods just teed off. I haven’t golfed for a few years now, but I still like watching “The Majors.” I appreciate some of the background you’ve provided.

I have a picture of my foot next to a gigantic Minnesota mushroom that is very much like the one of Jack’s foot next to a California mushroom. Unfortunately, I don’t think I can post it in the comments section.

That’s one huge shroom! I hope your fingers ok. I assume the injury had nothing to do with you eating the shrooms.

Ouch on the pinkie! Cool little knit wrap for it — never seen one of those before.
Enjoyed the photos — if I played golf there would be even more golf balls in the Pacific!

Great that you can still get in your normal rides, even with all of your other activities (not including attempts at slicing off fingers). That mushroom looks like a loaf of bread!

You been doing the printing in your new outdoor lab?

Sorry about your finger injury. I agree with Rich about the cool knit wrap ;’-).
Rattlesnakes would keep me off that path or anywhere near! And that mushroom is well the largest I have ever seen.

I’m with Jack…snakes are my least favourite animal.
