Time Is On My Side……….

Well we hope it is…….sure does seem to fly by lately. One day I think of doing something and then before I know it two/three weeks have passed. Again we’ve been out and about on our bikes a lot……sometimes together and sometimes separate. I have to admit with my now 3 (yes 3 part time jobs) all dealing with people and talking most of the time I’m working, I like to ride with just me, myself and I. No unusual rides just our local runs to Asilomar or Marina for a drug run like today. The rides north to Marina and back through Ft Ord are way more fun……not so many people and more hills!! Today we even had a wounded coyote come out on the road in front of us. He seemed very rattled and didn’t know where he/she wanted to go…..seemed to want to stay on the road and we didn’t want to try and pass until we knew we were safe. You know just in case of some rabid attack. Finally he went left down onto the single track dirt and we could get around.

The following will be a composite of several rides this month along with some tree photos for your enjoyment…..

Took this tree shot while on our Utah trip. This was in Bryce Canyon……I call it Rebirth. It’s going to be in two shows in the next few months.

I’m realizing that our selection of trees is mostly limited to non deciduous trees. This is the Pacific Grove Golf course with some lovely Monterey Cypress. I ride past here nearly daily on my Asilomar ride.

Just up the road a mile or so I then ride pass several large Oaks….I’m not sure which type, we have several here……but mostly Coastal Live Oak.

In downtown Pacific Grove the trees are decorated with lanterns for the Feast of Lantern Festival every year. Again these look to be a cypress. And – yes I was on my bicycle.

Heading home we find the local “Field Office” at the golf course hole #17 PG Golf. Jack just said this looks like a jail.

I went down the dirt trail in PG one day and found this neat Tree House. I like the sign on the fence.

We drove to the Bay Area to see the Grands and found this Cell Tower Tree….it’s a new species. Looks to be a Redwood verity.

We also had car week here in Monterey……found these bikes at the Saturday Night Exotics Show.

Jack found an upgrade for the Transit at the show.

This is my favorite old tree site in Pt Lobos. You can’t bike on this trail but you can bike to the trail head.

Today we found this great Willow tree along with Reeds….lots of Tule Reed that  the Native Ohlone people would use to make huts, boats and storage huts.

Ok…..the promised 80’s photo. We had an 80’s party at Taste Morgan Friday night and I decided to let my inner punk out. We had lots of fun…had 88 & 89 wines. Disk jockey playing great dance music and fun was had by all…..I may have done a little to much “Dancing In The Street” as my legs were sore today! Rocker Girl – out!!

Featured image is Carmel Beach.

Janet here of Jack and Janet in Seaside, CA. We just love to ride our bikes and share and read stories from other such afflicted souls.

    Great Photos!
I really like the Pt Lobos tree and the jail-like Field Office.
The photo you are entering in the shows is a winner for sure!

Nice Hair btw — one of those San Francisco haircuts Ray Stevens sang about?

Very lovely collection of photos from all of your rides – Rebirth is stunning! You look awesome in your 80s punk outfit! I love it! A few years ago my friend’s 40th bday party was 80s Rock as a theme. I did ripped jeans, jean jacket, fluoro belt, etc and teased my hair up very high – lots of fun, but it took days to get all the hairspray out of my hair.

It was fun…..I was such a ‘wanta be” punk in the 80’s but I was a Mom…Da can’t go there…..my belt if you zoom in close is Jack’s it’s a bicycle tire with a bike chain for the buckle!! And my jacket was my son’s from the 80’s !

That’s an incredible photo from Bryce Canyon, Janet. The purple hairdo is pretty great too. Add a few showy tattoos and you’d fit right in here in Portland.

That Cell tower Tree was bizarre and like your punk look.

Very nice and interesting photos Janet. And your punk look is right on! You go girl!

I could have written your opening lines for my own life — time flying by without realizing two weeks have passed; riding a lot, some with others, some solo; often enjoying rides by myself with no need for conversation. I can relate to it all.

Nice post — thanks for showing us all those trees too!
