Tolay for Tea

The San Francisco Bay Area is fortunate to have so many parks, open space preserves, and public lands, and in Sonoma County we have our fair share. The newest is Tolay Lake Regional Park in the southern part of the county. It officially opened for daily access less than two weeks ago.

My ace support crew and I undertook a recon mission on foot on one of the trails at Tolay last week, and I immediately recognized its potential for the Ogre. Fortunately, bikes are allowed.

Today I spent a few hours pedaling up and down the ridges, around the ponds, and across bumpy pastures in unseasonably warm November weather.

They call me Old Grumble-Face. I have no idea why they do that....

Looks like a beautiful park! I think I might prefer hiking on that terrain, but it seems perfect for you and your Ogre.

Another great place to ride! How do you ever decide which to ride?
Wind direction determines which way I go, because I KNOW what the scenery is going to be. 😉

Just read your terrific news on your website!!!! Absolutely fantastic!! Going to post it here?

Due to the wind, I always suggested that by law every bicycle sold in Illinois should come equipped with a sail.

As to Sonoma County, I sometimes remind my ace support crew — still a farm girl at heart — that although it’s not much good for growing corn and beans, it’s otherwise not too bad.
