Town and Country

Greetings from Lockdown Day 31 and Counting.

Due to all the closed parks and bike paths, I need to be creative in order to find safe routes and interesting destinations. Today I worked my way through traffic and pedaled north on Santa Rosa’s main drag, then kept going into the countryside. I swear the streets and roads seem as busy as ever, although everyone is supposed to be locked down at home.

They call me Old Grumble-Face. I have no idea why they do that....

I wonder where everyone is driving during the lockdown? I guess boredom combined with low gas prices brings them out. At least you got to see sheep under a tree! The mural and the painting at the brewery are great.

ThT mural at the brewery really is great. It looks like a stained glass window, and they should just leave the second one alone even after the painters return. It looks perfect as is.

It seems more cars on the road than necessary here, too, but fewer than normally. Also more cyclists claiming their right to road space. We know we can be there, they probably know they shouldn’t be there. Maybe.

Traffic issues aside, that looked like a really nice ride. Glad you got sheep in shade finally 🙂 It’s so common here, it made me laugh. For our landscapes to look so much the same and to both have lots of wineries, I guess it feels like you should have more sheep, too. It must be very frustrating for the painter not to be able to finish his project!

That three-headed blue dude is bizarre indeed, but it’s very colorful. Perfect sheep in shade picture! I never did find any sheep in the shade in time for the challenge. Come to think of it, I haven’t seen any since then either. Seems your making the most of your rides by covering new territory out of necessity to get around path closures. Cheers & happy pedaling.
