Twin Lakes

Time for another getaway, this time to escape a spell of temperatures above 100° F.

I drove over to the eastern side of the Sierra Nevada, basing myself in the town of Bridgeport (not far from Nevada), which put me in a position to do some riding up to the eastern face of the mountains, into the hills beyond Bodie, and possibly in one or two other locales.

They call me Old Grumble-Face. I have no idea why they do that....

That alpine splendor is almost as beautiful as the desert splendor you’ve been showing recently. Please stop traveling. I’m turning a very deep shade of jealous-green.

Glad you liked that western splendor. More to come as soon as I have time to put together words and photos from my other rides at the edge of the Sierra. Maybe the best solution for shades of green is for you to get your Gopher State rear end out here to the photogenic Left Coast. 😉

    Beautiful photos!
Just reading up on Bridgeport and Bodie — lots of interesting history there, and present day activities.
I was amazed a town of 575 or so could have so many motels, —- Ohhhhh, now it makes sense!

What a gorgeous area. And you caught much of the beauty in your photos.

Rain, more rain and now heat. You can’t catch a break – and I always thought of your part of CA as being pretty mild weather-wise! You have definitely found some beautiful places to escape to!
