Two Liquids & A Ride on a ‘Water Pipe’ Bicycle

Pulled the mid 70’s Western Flyer down from the rack and gave it some road time.  It IS one of those “they shoulda used the tubing for plumbing” bicycles, but, I like it.  🙂  (And its been around here for 43 years.)

Down 7th/1550E for the X-thousandth time.  Always keep an eye on this little pool near the Grant Township garage fed by drainage from an athletic field.  Depending on rainfall the pipe can be a torrent or a trickle — or nothing at all, like today.

Its become colorful with the algae growing in it — looks like the surrounding vegetation has had a dose of Round-Up.

The other liquid is the IGA Spring  water in the bottle cage. (Its not cheap —  its inexpensive — and looks much better than the water in that pool.)

Checking on the grapes up the street on a round-about way home.

They turned purple quickly — green just a couple days ago.

No major threat to Sonoma County  😉

Very much enjoy all the entries you all have provided -- great to see the everyday cycling venues. Being in eastern Illinois, scenery certainly isn't our forte, but oh well, the roads are normally quiet. Look forward to more and more entries from all of you, I do have a few over on BL -- in Bill's Day Rides, and one journal.

At the time it was a major step up from my single speed Huffy.

Rich, I trust you remembered which liquid was for drinking and which was for looking!

My turtle and frog like the look of that water. The bike looks very comfortable – not necessarily fast – but Kermit has ridden bikes that looked a lot like that in a couple of the Muppet movies.
