Vernonia Lake

Each day that we manage to get a ride in feels like it could well be our last for awhile, so we try to savor it.  We know how lucky we are to still be able to enjoy what feels like a privilege now.  Today’s ride up the Banks-Vernonia Rail Trail to Vernonia Lake was delicious – fine weather, a leisurely ride, and a chorus of blackbirds singing from the cattails ringing the lake.

This is just a placeholder for now. I’ll add a real description when I get more time.

I have ridden this trail only once and fund it a true delight. We have thought of getting back to it at sometime, but it hasn’t happened yet. On my list ;’-)

It’s hard to think of a greater, more inventive instrumentalist in any genre than Miles Davis. In every phase of his career he mentored and surrounded himself with some pretty amazing people. The “Bitch’s Brew” and “Kind of Blue” albums are incredibly good.

Each and every ride counts! I’m happy you got to do another beautiful ride. Great blackbird association.

Gorgeous ride on a beautiful day! Good for the soul. Good to ward off the doom and gloom of the daily news feeds, too. What a great trail. I’m penciling it down on my list of places to ride next time I’m up that way, when trails open again. Hope your relocating goes smoothly. Cheers & happy pedaling. Stay healthy!

It is a great little trail. I think we’ve ridden it three times now. We were lucky to get this ride in. The trail was closed the next day as a part of the statewide shutdown order.
