Waitin’ for July . . . . Meanwhile. . . .

Just waiting for July and Greg’s new set of challenges

Meanwhile just regular stuff type rides with  a few episodes worthy of note — maybe.

Le Tour keeping the tote company before a ride across town to the park

Did we have an ‘event’?

Yes, we did

After circling the park and heading back east, a turn from 6th Avenue on to Elm street resulted in an instant flat tire.

No choice but to start trudging east for a mile and a half

Halfway there, I decided to try the CO2 inflator, knowing how quickly the tire went flat it was unlikely to help.

The inflator worked great!  Never had tried it before

(and yes it does get incredibly cold!)

The tube however had other ideas an immediately went flat again.

Smokey and the Bandit time — east bound and down . . . .

Here is the little culprit

Patched up the tube (still Old School here) and all went well

Le Tour back in the game and ready for a road test ride

(Ya know how they say you can’t change just one thing)

All was back in order  🙂

Another ride south of town and around the park, this time on the Raleigh.  I spotted a garage sale going on with a bicycle in the driveway, and checked it out on the way back home

Turns out the guy is a real artist with stained glass, and sculptures using bicycle parts

Schwinn frame now a bracket for an outdoor lamp

Pinwheel of stained glass on a bicycle wheel

Another light fixure

More stuff inside, including some beautiful stained glass windows

Blackburn mini pump for 4 dollars — never used

It came home with me.

Sooooo – what have you guys been up to?

Great creative ideas with bicycle parts! But you better not leave your bike lying around near there, it might morph into a lamp.
I have been riding and photographing – just not getting around to posting. Trying to finally get my little journal done from our tour at the beginning of June.

Done a fair bit of Stained glassing myself, got all the supplies just need the inspiration and time. The bike wheel was clever.

You’ve given me an idea: I should break down my defunct mountain bike and create fixtures for my house out of the parts.

That little pump is an excellent garage sale find.

I’ve been riding a lot but photographing very little. Rode in a fun little event called the Tour de Grace yesterday, in support of a local hospital called Grace Cottage (smallest hospital in Vermont). It was a very photo-worthy event, but did I take any pictures? Not a one (hangs head in shame).
