Walks and Rides: The June 2021 Edition

Summer is here! And I managed to ride every day. Towards the end of the month we had several days with severe and unpredictable thunder storms and it was a bit tricky finding a dry window. But I did, even if it meant the ride was a short one. In spite of the short rides, I set a new record for kilometers in one month – and that, after I said I am no longer chasing kilometer goals. It was only in the last days of the month when I saw I was getting close to the 1,000 mark that I decided I wanted to make it a millenial. This is a first on record since I started recording my monthly kilometers in 2017, although I am sure I rode that distance when touring earlier on.

On the other hand, my June walking/hiking record is zero.

And HERE is the picture gallery on my website.

I'm a US born ex-pat, having lived most of my adult life in Munich, Germany. Cycling and photography are my favorite things.

Congratulations on 1000kms. Wouldn’t they rehabilitate the gravel quarry afterwards and replant trees? they do here and I would think Germany is more environmentally aware.

I would not want to pick a favorite of any of your photos as they are so beautiful. The photo of your wheel making tracks in the sky is so interesting, and the recycled Maypole as well.
So glad that you had such a good month of cycling.

And the winner of the award for “Greg’s Favorite Suzanne Picture” for the month of June is . . . . . . . . . .”Poppy Time.” I loved the bright colored flower in the foreground, the clarity of the bristles on the stem, and the blurriness of the bike wheel in the background. Superb!

Beautiful photos as always. And congratulations on hitting 1000 kilometers, as well as riding every day.

Gorgeous pics – summer is definitely in full swing. Congratulations on getting out every day and for setting a distance record. That’s fantastic – consistency and distance is very hard to achieve! Hope the weather stays amenable to all the rides you want to do this month.
