What a wonderful day

We are having hot weather – hot for us anyway with temperatures rising to the upper 70’s and 80’s. And the sun does burn bright and strong. The best time of day for a ride is in the early morning. Then the air is delightful. Since we have ridden all trails and loops and roads and routes many, many times we feel we can ride the very same one several days in a row. Our choice has fallen upon the ride to Starnberger See where we enjoy a cappuccino with a croissant in a lakeside cafe. I’m not really a coffee drinker, but I find just one cup once in a while is very nice.

It was even a bit chilly and breezy in the shade.

What a view – There are certainly more dramatic mountain vistas but the sight of the Alps between us and places further south fill many with a longing to escape the Germanic orderliness to the wonders of Italy.

Out for a morning swim

And now for the really exciting part of today’s ride: I found mini liquor bottles and a doghouse!

19. Mini liquor bottles: I had a hunch where to look – under the lakeside park benches that are kind of a hangout. There I discovered not jut one mini bottle but four! The stuff is called Feigling and is vodka with fig flavor. I checked the Internet and found that they have several flavors, including bubble gum. Yum! I always wanted to get high on bubble gum.

20. A dog house: I had dispaired of finding a dog house and had thought up some amusing and creative substitutes, fortunately no longer necessary.

That completes round 4 of the scavenger hunt, but it seems there were some bonus items that I wasn’t aware of. I’ll now check that out. At any rate, Janos is going to be happy when I stop enthusiastically exclaiming over discarded tires (I have now seen many) and crushed beverage cans.

I'm a US born ex-pat, having lived most of my adult life in Munich, Germany. Cycling and photography are my favorite things.

I had to LOL at that! The mini bottles and doghouse are excellent finds and nailed down items 79 and 80 for you.

Congratulations on completing all 80 items — when we think about it, that is a LOT!

We will see what Challenge Czar Greg has in store for us.

Great photos. I can remember buying a small bottle of Kirsch at a railway station in Austria, couldn’t do that here.

Love that photo of Janos. He must think this crowd here is nuts. And I guess he’s right.

    And what a lovely day.
