Windsor with Jeff

No, not the Windsor where the Queen hangs out. Windsor, California, north of Santa Rosa.

Took off from Jeff’s and rolled north. Wandered around familiar quiet roads. Saw two coyotes cavorting in a field. Talked to a retired couple (she on an ebike) from Cameron Park (in the foothills east of Sacramento) who were pedaling around wine country. Visited the new location of Russian River Brewing Company in Windsor, but incredibly they weren’t bicycle friendly, so we moved on. Eventually meandered back to Jeff’s via the Greenway. Accomplished Coffeeneuring requirements, per photo.

They call me Old Grumble-Face. I have no idea why they do that....

Biking in wine country sounds delightful. I’ve only been there once…after stopping at the third or fourth place, I remember I could hardly get to the car, so I’m sure I wouldn’t have been able to cycle. Sounds like you enjoyed your ride.

How was the one place not bike friendly? 1. Didn’t approve of your attire. 2. Wouldn’t let you bring your bike on the grounds. 3. Refused when you asked for a free sample for your bicycle saying, “[Insert your bicycle’s name] would also like to try it.” 4. All of the above. 5. None of the above.

Long-time local brew pub opened second location. No bicycle parking. When we asked where we could park bikes and keep an eye on them while eating lunch, they had no idea. That’s unheard of in bicycle-centric Sonoma County where a significant chunk of their business will be arriving on two wheels. We told them we would return when they were bike-friendly. Not a big deal to us. Did not allow it to spoil our ride. Dined elsewhere.

A particularly perturbing and piquing paucity of pictures 🙁
Otherwise, sounds like a very nice ride 🙂
