A Day Late But Not A Dollar Short……Solstice Sunset

I was a little under the weather on the 21st so didn’t make it out. However, everyone under the sun was posting amazing sunset and sunrise photos on FB and other social media. As I sat on my couch last night…….I could see the color building from our window and decided I needed to get out there.

So off I went…..ok true confession time I was walking but you need to see these and I did find a bike for you.

My first glance at the color coming from the West. This would be right over Carmel and Big Sur. This is less than a mile from our house. You can see I cross  Hwy 1 to get to the rectrail that runs along the beach.
This guy was on the bridge watching the traffic and looking for tonight’s sleeping accommodations. That’s him standing on the overpass. Quit a rig….I saw him the other day downtown. Most of these guys don’t ride the bikes they just walk them but it allows them to carry all their important stuff. Notice the reflective sky!
I walked to the top of the dune for this one.
It just keeps coming!
Looking towards Monterey and across the Bay. Over the hills is Carmel. This is actually a great view of most of our rides…around and over the Bay.
Trail sign.
The End…..a beautiful 3.5 mi walk “Into The Mystic”

Happy Solstice all……no filters needed!!

Janet here of Jack and Janet in Seaside, CA. We just love to ride our bikes and share and read stories from other such afflicted souls.

    Absolutely Incredible photos!! Beautiful!!!!
Thanks for the effort — a 3.5 mile walk is quite a long way.
(the bicycle rig is pretty incredible too! Bicycle, kayak, and walker?????)

It’s good to live on the west coast I reckon, can’t beat the sunsets. That homeless guy with a kayak, haven’t seen that before.

Beautiful photos Janet. And like others, I find the kayak on the homeless bike very interesting. Thanks for making the effort to share your wonderful photos.

What a gorgeous sunset – though a couple of those photos with the glow over the hill make me think forest fire not sunset. Thanks for going out and then sharing 🙂

We had a guy who retired and went round Australia with his goods in a wheelbarrow – he pushing and his dog walking alongside. I reckon he would have liked the bike / trailer setup.

Your sunset pictures are very good. I still haven’t managed a sunrise or sunset so I’m jealous.
