A mountain of hazards

Who dreamed up this month’s challenge, anyway?  Suddenly I’m seeing risks everywhere that I never gave much thought to before, and starting to feel paranoid.  Our climb up Mount Lemmon yesterday was just one hazard after another: precipitous cliffs, falling rocks, goblins, ice, heart attack?  Terrible.  Awesome descent though.

For additional photos of this climb, here are our posts from the first time we climbed it in 2016, and again just last winter.

This is just a placeholder for now. I’ll add a real description when I get more time.

You can either ignore hazards or make jokes about them, but they are there. ?

Schwalbe Marathons are the best, no flats for me in the last 6 months since I put them on. Mt Lemmon looked great.

I’ve only been up Mt Lemon once and it was long ago. I was in a car and it was summer, but I remember snow up there. Do you have more pictures on another site? I’d love to see them.

I don’t have any other photos posted from this ride up. I didn’t stop for many because I’ve ridden it twice before and photographed it then too. I updated this post to add links to them too.

That looked like a great climb – what a perfect day. I remember seeing warning signs of terrible hazards when I did Trail Ridge Road, too, but I had the most perfect weather you could wish for (I did wait down in Estes Park for the weather to clear though). It was just a reminder of how good you’ve got it when the weather is fine.

I can’t believe I haven’t heard of Trail Ridge Road before. That looks like an amazing ride, with all those miles above the tree line. I wonder if I could still do that ride myself? I’m not sure if elevation would be too much of an issue for me.
