We are on our 5 day adventure camping outing with the two grandboys: Etienne 7, Andre 4. They have their masks at the ready at all times, know when to use them, and never complain about them (good parenting). That is one sign of the times.

When camping at Deception Pass State Park, we helped them earn their Junior Ranger badges. After the badges were presented and they repeated their Ranger Pledge with Ranger Joy, Susan asked to take their photo together. Neither Susan nor Ranger Joy had said anything to the boys about distancing (this time), and here is sign of the times #2 — automatically distancing.

One more day with them and we return the boys to their rightful owners. I must say — it is EXHAUSTING telling them what not to do or to stop doing something (over and over and over). Parenthood was made for the young!!! They are however, really good boys and we have enjoyed our time with them — but time to take them home until another time in the future for more adventures.

Sign of the times for sure! Good kids practicing social distancing.
Illinois goes back to mandatory face masks in all buildings on Monday.
As Yogi Berra said, “It aint over till its over” and we are a looooong way from over. 🙁

Our Governor is getting a lot of negative reactions from the non-Vaxxers, but we love that he is being very restrictive about the masks thing. It seems that our state is being the most restrictive at this point, but I am hopeful that other states will follow.

btw I have posted out time with these little guys on my blog ;’-).

Sad we have to drill into children the dangers of this and that, the new world we live in I suppose.

It is indeed sad, and we all would rather have the ‘old normal’ than what has now become the ‘new normal’. Hopeful that that will all calm down more at some point.

So glad you could spend time with the grands. It looked like an action-packed adventure for sure. I’ve always thought geocaching would be a fun family activity and wish it’d been around when I was a kid. I guess the good thing about grands is that you can hand them back when you’re worn out! I love the tablecloth in your camping set-up, too.

It has definitely been action packed! And you are so very right about being able to hand them back after WE get worn out. We started out years ago doing geocaching ourselves, wore out the activity and started doing it with the Grands when they are with us. They do like finding treasures, but the treasures have become a little less treasurable. The hunting and finding is the most fun, what we find is secondary.
