A Surprise

Although it wasn’t that cold, the wind dissuaded us from getting on our bikes this morning. We took a walk instead and saw that most of the snow had melted and there were plenty (a plethora?) of big puddles. That wasn’t a big surprise. Our weather is fairly predictable and the forecasts reliable.

But no one could have predicted that we would encounter Bernie here. It took him a while to get to Munich but that he got here at all was awesome! Darned smart of him to get bundled up and wear mittens, too.

I'm a US born ex-pat, having lived most of my adult life in Munich, Germany. Cycling and photography are my favorite things.

I see what you meant about water on top of ice. You’re right, that surface is the slipperiest. Even so, it looks like you and Janos are dancing around Bernie right on the edge of that water.

That old Bernie sure gets around! He must be smelling really bad by now since he hasn’t changed his clothes since he set out on the journey. Skipping the ride when it’s windy is smart!

Especiallly impressive that Bernie has a reflection on the surface of the water. Looks pretty hazardous though – water, ice, unmasked faces. Not a good combination. A plethora of risks.

Thanks for noticing and commenting on Bernie’s puddle reflection!

Forgotten what a puddle looks like. Bernie needs a holiday from holidays, poor old fellow.

I agree wind is harder to deal with than just cold. I hadn’t even noticed the Bernie reflection until Scooter pointed it out. That is excellent.
