A young gum tree

After a crap week I had a ride along the Perth to Breadalbane cycle path looking for a suitable tree to use in the Challenge.
Previously I had taken bridge pictures but the realised I took them on June 1 so they were now just so yesterday.
Why was it a crap week? did I meet my 100k in the week challenge? Find out by clicking Here

Hi Tony. Glad you’re feeling better. Well done on bridges and trees. I know what you mean about plastic toe clips. I have a pair of old metal ones that I’ve gently bent into shape to accommodate bulky hiking boots. I always swap to that setup when I ride in rugged locales where I expect to also do some hiking and/or be forced to drag the bike on rough/steep bits.
Nice to know I am not Robinson Crusoe with the toe clips Bill.
I guess the prevalence of cleats and the fact the the young people tend not to cycle somewhere and then go for a walk (bikes cost too much to leave lying around in the bush) has diminished the numbers who would like a proper, workable toe clip.
Well done, Tony. I was down for seven full days with a cold, and you rebounded in 3.5. Good on you for getting in 100 kms in a week where you were sick! Maybe they should have given you the two different jabs in separate weeks so your immune system did not have such a WTF! response. Maybe I have Man-flu – I meet two of your three diagnostic criteria. I’m pretty sure they have tested for everything else – so who knows, maybe it can cross genders 🙂 Glad to see you are having fun on all three bikes – how rude of the guy to laugh at you!!!
But mine wasn’t a “real” flu, it was some sort of manufactured laboratory chemical weapon.
Glad you met your 100 km challenge, got over the flu … and found a very nice tree!
