Arch-ery. The art of looking for arches.

Oblique arches at Elizabeth Quay in front of the city.

I went for another ride through the city to City Beach for a coffee and cake on my last few days of holidays, boy I think I could get used to the retired life. Think we’re safe from the smoke here until our own bushfire season starts in summer, not looking forward to that.

A fly-through of my route.

Finally finished my Journal of my cycle north to Kalbarri. See below.

I live in the hills just east of the city of Perth, Western Australia and I've loved cycling all my life, From riding to primary school when I was 8 years old to cycle touring as a grumpy old man. Cycling is freedom on two wheels and I love getting on my bike at any opportunity.

Those arches are spectacular. I have to confess, with the upside down arches, I couldn’t resist downloading the photo and rotating it 180 degrees to see what it really looked like. 🙂

Interesting arches, but a really great tour. Fantastic flowers. And an 85 mile day!!

Lots of great arches, and what sounds like a very nice tour.

Not so sure about all those people locked in love in Perth – I woulda thought you’d have a lot of free spirits not wishing to be tied down. You definitely found a lot of very impressive arches.

I can only repeat what everyone else has said: spectacular, interesting, nice, great, impressive and beautiful!

Thanks everyone. Glad you enjoyed the Perth Arches. Originally I couldn’t think of any, then I just went riding around and they were everywhere.

What the heck happened with the angled University of WA Tuscan style arches photo? Were you falling off your bike as you took the picture? If so, I admire your tenacity in getting the picture. I just hope you didn’t get injured.
