architecture the last few

A cool and cloudy morning with a moderate NE wind.

Local tradition has it that you have to hold your breath whilst passing through the arches, I’ve been doing just that for at least the last 50 years.

Bell and clock tower, Sunningell parish church.

Exposed timbers White Hart pub in Fyfield. An added bonus is the Stonesfield roof, note the tiles reduce in size the higher up the roof they go.

Back in my home village the Western entrance to Drayton parish church.

Despite the weather yet another great morning on the bike.

Nice variety of architecture! The bell and clock tower especially.

Interesting about passing through the arches — any reason? Or just something you do because you do?

There was a time people held their breath passing thru here — with good reason — canneries and a stockyard! They didn’t refer to a through the town drainage the “Stink Ditch” without reason!

Nice buildings and architecture. I wonder what would happen if you did not hold your breath going thru the arches.
