Autumnal Equinox is Near

The Autumnal Equinox falls on September 22 at 8:31 AM CDT
(Vernal Equinox for our Southern Hemisphere friends)
The sun will rise due east and set due west
Pretty cool to observe if you live in a place surveyed with a grid system as we are in Illinois
The sun’s location and shadows pointing due west at sunrise and due east at sunset are indications of the true direction grid system or not

Equinox info HERE (plus you can find out how Granny made her home dust free without lifting a finger!*) 😉
Consider a photo of the equinox in your area
- possibly warrants a spot on Ripley’s Believe It or Not in Santa Rosa

It took all my strength to avoid clickbait Granny and her anti-dust trick!
Hee hee — and here I thought it would be the perfect thing to get all the particulates from the fires out of the air in the house. 😉
BUT!! If you order RIGHT NOW — they will. . . . . . .
Happy Equinox, Rich! Well, I didn’t make it out this morning for the sunrise, and let’s see what happens at sunset… I have my doubts. I haven’t really found a place close by with a view to the horizon.
Raining tonight – no picture
Well! 🙁
Nice and clear here, so in about 2 hours will go south of town a little and get a photo.
Tomorrow night will not make much difference at all or the day after even, although the sun is moving far more quickly these days so we don’t have the flexibility a solstice provides.
Thanks, might still work out.
