Back In The Saddle Again

Swing added for photo opp I bet. Pacific Grove Golf Course.

Well I went out for a ride today. It felt good and Not at the same time. With this whatever I’ve had some vertigo issues and just prior to getting on my bike I practically spun out just walking up to the bike. That’s a little nerve racking!!

We headed out towards Asilomar for a nice little 17mi round trip for me since it’s been a month and a 10 day cold since I was on my bike. I didn’t experience any more vertigo issues but I nearly crashed while riding on busy Oceanview Blvd just after the aquarium…..there were cars on my left and parked cars on my right…all of a sudden a car door on the right starts to open as I’m within inches of it. Jack screamed, I screamed and some how had the foresight to just keep going and they didn’t open. If they had I would have been down for sure as it was that close. I didn’t get scared until about a block later when I realized what had happened. Phewwwww

It’s a cool and cloudy day today…rain lurking but still hasn’t shown up. We did have a whale sighting inside the Bay while we stopped for our banana break….that’s always fun.

Not to much else to say except I did ride and it felt good most of the time. Just that little part in the middle where I screamed like a crazy woman.

so…I’m testing post publish editing and adding more than one photo.

Janet here of Jack and Janet in Seaside, CA. We just love to ride our bikes and share and read stories from other such afflicted souls.

Screaming like a crazy person is perfectly acceptable if someone is about to door you!

So glad you’re OK, Janet. That’s such a helpless feeling when you see a car door opening ahead of you. That only happened to me once, in Italy. I screamed too, but it didn’t help. The driver hopped out, mad at me for hitting his car. I was fine – going very slowly anyway, and I landed well – but I was angry too. He pointed to his mirror, which was broken, shrugged his shoulders, and walked off. Not his fault – his mirror didn’t work!

Well that didn’t work….I thought I added another photo? Also when first published I had attached the photo I just tried to add as “featured Image” or whatever it was called and it didn’t post with the post but is in the photo gallery.? Still learning! I’ll get it soon.

It might be a training issue, Janet. Sounds like I need to spend some time on building a WordPress how-to article. Since you can see your photo in the library, you’ve obviously got upload privileges -you’re just not linking it to your post.

Setting the featured image is a multi step process:
You need to import the photo and get it into the library
You need to set it as the featured image in the post
You need to update the post, so the change is saved.

Please try again, and report back.
