Before The Rains Arrive
Today would have to be just a short trip out due to the heavy rains forecast for later this morning. This rain would be a challenge as it would fall on already frozen ground.

This is the pond in the hamlet of Sutton Wick, love the remaining branches on the willow.

This is from the reverse angle, farmyard geese on bank away from frozen water.

Aylesbury Ducks and possibly an Indian Runner by the sparse open stretch of water. Fallen willow leaves litter the surface. Today’s seven mile journey was very enjoyable if somewhat cold. The rain came in around 10 o’clock and has continued all day.

The last photo gives new meaning to getting cold feet!
Good you could get even a short ride in . . . .
Forecast here is similar to that of Greg’s in Minnesota — snow and WIND — like 55mph winds
Oh, and the wind chill could be minus 30F
They didn’t seem too perturbed, it was around -1C when I took the photos, 24 hours later it was +13C.
I certainly wouldn’t be venturing outside in anything approaching your forecast.
Good luck and stay safe.
The flowing, golden-brown drapery on those willow trees really is stunning. I don’t believe I’ve ever seen such a look on the willow trees around here.
Quite agree Greg, more impressive without the leaves.
