Blizzard by our standards

It snowed all day yesterday and into the night. Today it was pretty windy, too. I don’t know what Greg the Weatherman would say, but this might be the closest we will come to a blizzard. We have lots of snow for sure even if it’s not a blizzard and every day I go walking in our winter wonderland.

Here you can see how our trees are protected with chicken wire to keep the beavers from damaging them. Please note: polygons

Walking along the Würm

Ms. Mallard also out for a winter stroll

Let’s chill for awhile.

And a Garceau with a Pool’s Closed stencil

I checked the internet for the meaning of Pool’s Closed and can’t say that I understood it.

That was it for today and if I can believe the weather forecast, I won’t be on my bike before the end of January.

I'm a US born ex-pat, having lived most of my adult life in Munich, Germany. Cycling and photography are my favorite things.

Great polygons! I’m puzzled about the pool closure as well. Seems like a Garceau would be a poor choice for a swimming hole, even if open. Pretty tiny laps you’d be swimming.

Great photos! What a winter wonderland. I’m glad you have taken up walking!

Walking is certainly an acquired taste for me. I’m hoping when I don’t have to wear a heavy coat and clunky boots and don’t have to make my way through loose snow or on slippery paths that it will be easier!

Looks like a very pretty snowfall. I’m sure Greg will love that last photo.

Snow does make things look so beautiful. I often have wished I was a winter sports enthusiast but I am not. Did not grow up in a lot of snow in Maryland. I love your photos that and am happy you are walking so to show us these scenes.

I am not going to complain about it raining here all day yesterday. If it had been snow, it would have been several feet deep. Lovely pictures.

As you probably expected, the picture of the Garceau was my favorite, but for a different reason than you might think. Sure, I’m a huge fan of all Garceaus, but this one is special because of the two guys above the “Pool’s Closed” warnings. The first thing I thought when I noticed the black and white outfits was that somebody in Germany is a fan of the movie “The Three Amigos.” (Different hats though.) The significance of “The Three Amigos” is that when my son was about 12 or 13 years old, that was his favorite movie. We watched it together probably a dozen times. Now, thirty-some years later, we still occasionally quote lines from that movie.
