CHASING CH’S

I’m not finding an abundance of subjects for the challenge, and not a single chimney for this post. Today and yesterday I found only ch’s. To start with, both rides were chilly with temperatures hovering around freezing. Yesterday I did a tried and true asphalt loop, no muddy paths through the woods.

Here we have a chain link fence, I believe.
Remnants of snow between chunks of earth.

Today I cycled to my tai chi class. In the building next to where our classes are held, is housing for refugees. The clutter of bicycles in front of the building has been unchanged for several weeks or longer. Today I thought I could use it for our challenge. After I took my pictures, a man approached me and asked me just why I was taking those pictures and did I know this is private property owned by the city of Munich and that I wasn’t allowed to take pictures of the building. No, I didn’t know. I explained our little ch challenge and he didn’t pursue the matter. I wonder what he thought I was going to do with the pictures.

Chaos

Another interesting thing on the way to tai chi was that I noticed for the first time, that on those eleven kilometers there are about a half dozen churches. One of these days I’ll take a picture of each church on my route. Today I stopped for a look at the Friedenskirche for the first time. Where most of Bavaria is catholic, this is an evangelical lutheran church.

Church of Peace (Friedenskirche): The interior was very pleasant, sort of shaped like a Roman amphitheater. I should have taken pictures of the interior as well. That is not a chimney on the roof.
A foot bridge across the Würm takes you to the Friedenskirche.

I'm a US born ex-pat, having lived most of my adult life in Munich, Germany. Cycling and photography are my favorite things.

If I lived in Munich in winter. My teeth would be making Ch-Ch-Ch-Ch noises all the time.

Such a scofflaw! I can’t believe you took a photo of those bikes and scooters! The next thing we know, you’ll be showing photos of the children themselves!

Interesting ride, and the footbridge is a great photo.

Taking photos of bicycles is a sure sign of some sort of nefarious activity — prolly thought you were going to sell the photos to a bicycle porn site?

LOL! Or else to a neo-nazi site showing how all those immigrants don’t conform to German orderliness and therefore shouldn’t be here.

Good job using the Cycle365 Challenge to explain your criminal behavior. That was some pretty quick thinking. I’ve been questioned a couple times in the past about taking pictures and I resort to lying–something like, “I saw a condor on your chimney.”

Ok, most of your photos of the landscape in Germany look like they should become jigsaw puzzles. They are so inviting, green and beautiful. But that feature photo does not make me want to visit Germany… at least not in January. Hope you get some better weather soon!

I do think that church needs to do some roof maintenance. That amount of growth cannot be good for water-tightness.
