Chimney Challenge

The Ascot Kiln chimneys. These were used to make millions of bricks for the cities houses about 100 -70 years ago. You can see the old kilns in front of them.

A record beating 5 chimneys in one photo. (OK I just read Suzanne’s post which had seven chimneys on the one building but these chimneys are individual and large)

On my ride to the city from home I usually pass theses old relics sitting by themselves next to the Ascot Racecourse. I think the local government has big plans for the area’s redevelopment but nothing’s happened for years. Weather-wise it’s just been sunshine and temperatures around 30 to 42 Celsius which is pretty typical around here this time of year.

That’s all folks.

I live in the hills just east of the city of Perth, Western Australia and I've loved cycling all my life, From riding to primary school when I was 8 years old to cycle touring as a grumpy old man. Cycling is freedom on two wheels and I love getting on my bike at any opportunity.

The Ascot Kilns provided a great collection of chimneys for you. And don’t be dejected over falling two chimneys short of Suzanne’s record. You totally destroyed her in the category of chimney VOLUME. Just one of your chimneys could swallow up all seven of hers. Congratulations.

I’ll get over it and like a phoenix from the ashes shall rise and get a photo with lots and lots of chimneys

Nigel lives near a Boral brick factory. Definitely no impressive stacks like that these days.

Not so polluting these days I think. Our brickworks use gas.
