CLC18 Ride 8: Many Happy Returns
Sunday, April 15, 2018 6 miles
The wife had a book to return to the library. I needed a little ride. So off I trundled to downtown Mountain View. It was a bit breezy but a beautiful day otherwise. Nothing but blue sky, like so:
The weather forecast was for rain to come in around 5. Here it was about 3 and not a cloud in the sky. So much for the forecast.
I got to the library first. While there I browsed the stacks and saw some really interesting books. I forgot to take a photo so here’s a recreation:
I also forgot to take a photo of our proof of purchase (this is what got me started on making the drawings). We got lattes at a local cafe, the Dana Street Roasters. The wife also got a big honkin’ piece of apple pie.
As we walked back up Castro Street, the main drag, I happened to notice that there was a big change in the sky. A quick look at the radar showed some interesting stuff heading our way. I decided not to waste any more time before heading home. I wouldn’t want a drop of water to hit me or anything. At least it wasn’t snow.

Big hugs to whoever is in charge of book acquisitions at your library!
LOVE YOUR LIBRARY!
Now that is a great Bike Literature section. Some of the best authors around. (My favorite is the thinnest book on the shelf: “Salem, SD Bike Routes.” Good one.)
I also really like the picture of the color blue.
Great ride Kathleen – good to see your library is well stocked with good reads !
OMG…Goddess is an artist!! How fun was that!!
I like the your book shelf and the cafe. Great idea & excellent drawings. Thanks.
And you can draw, too! I love your CLC photo and had a great laugh at all the book titles. After a long day at work, it was just what I needed. Thanks!
Wonderful, Kathleen! PDX has many great features, but you’ve obviously cornered the best bookshelf.
