Clear blue equinox

All the fires in Sonoma County, the North Bay, and the greater Bay Area are under control, completely contained, mostly extinguished, and not putting out much smoke. On the other hand, big fires farther away to the north, east, and south continue to rage across thousands of acres. Depending on prevailing winds, some days are quite a bit smokier than others.
Today, the first day of autumn, the wind brought a nearly perfect AQI of 4 and clear blue sky.

Beautiful Equinox Day and ride!
Juvenile Detention Center reminds me of an incorrigible kid we (I) had in class
He was sent to a similar center, chucked a baked potato across the cafeteria into some kids head.
Got expelled from there.
Guess who got him back in class?
Yeah, Im THAT good! ROTFL
There’s talk of closing the juvenile detention center, because it’s almost empty these days. I’ll recommend to the Board of Supervisors they should release the remaining teenage detainees into your custody. 😉
I have always wanted a picture of my bike from the low angle of your fifth picture (I think fifth). However, there’s never anybody around who will help me get up from that position. Guess they thought you were going to ride off with one of their inmates on your handlebars.
Oh, there were times I considered dropping off our son here when he was a teenager!
As to the photo, I intentionally parked the Ogre at the edge of a drainage ditch, hopped down into the ditch, and got down on my knees in order to shoot up at that angle. I think it took a couple of attempts before I made it back out of the ditch.
So great to see all that blue sky! Savor the day.
There were days when we thought we’d never see blue sky again.
AQI of 4 is quite a turnaround! Must be such a relief to have clear air and be able to get back out.
AQI here is steady at 5 this morning. Yay! Sorry if that means the wind is blowing all our smoke to Vermont.
Back in the day when my parents threatened to bring my brother and I to the Juvenile Detention Center, it was called The State Reformatory. I’m not sure what would be worse, reformation or detention. Either way, looking back, the threat seemed a little extreme for just mouthing off to our parents. But it kept us in line for a week or two.
Stunning pictures, Bill! Lots of interesting points of view.
