I arranged with Mary to get the 2018 Coffeeneuring patch – and it arrived yesterday.
There is not much to write about here at the moment. There are 50+ bushfires in the State (none close to us) and smoke is covering Longford today – so no riding for this COPD guy. We are hoping things don’t go crazy on Friday when we have the next forecasted hot day complete with strong winds. The fires have been started by dry electrical storms and the bush is really dry so it’s not good mix. Evacuation centres are being set up and I met a couple yesterday who had come in from Miena in the Central Highlands – a town threatened by a fire currently being contained. Firies from 3 States and New Zealand are supporting our brigades – thank you all and keep safe.
Cycling. I have set myself a new short term Challenge of 500k per month for January and February. I am hoping this will give me some fitness before I set off to ride from Melbourne to Adelaide in March. The ferry is booked, the gear is ready, now all I need is for those 42-45°C temperatures on the mainland to cool down a bit. Well, a lot. And the bushfires on the Mainland to die down too!!
