From where we live in Drayton there are three differing ways I can cycle into the near by town of Abingdon. This is one of them, the police closed this road to vehicles around lunchtime yesterday. This evidence of the recent heavy rains, the water levels will probably rise after Storm Bella hits the south and west of the country overnight. This is the second route into town, common sense has closed this one. This is normally pasture land, the cattle have been removed to higher ground.Heavy snow is forecast for tomorrow could make for an interesting few days to come.
Well, that does look particularly sodden! You must be getting all of the rain we were supposed to get! They were predicting a very wet summer here and we’ve had below average precip in Nov and Dec. Luckily, we don’t get the snow danger mixed in, though. I hope the storm doesn’t bring too much damage, you can stay safe and you can find some high ground to ride. Hope you are a having a happy holiday season otherwise.
Greg, didn’t bother yesterday as it was getting late.
We did walk in by the main road route this morning to visit my mother in law, as we are her support bubble.

Em, thanks for taking the time to message, yes we’re having a quiet festive period due to the recently enforced lock down.
Best wishes to you and the guys.
That’s a lot of water. Were you ever able to get to Abingdon?

Water water everywhere! That is definitely everywhere. And now snow expected?!? Oh boy, be safe.
Thanks Nancy, fortunately the heavy snow never materialised just a light dusting and a sharp frost by dawn.
Make sure the there is space for your bike on the ark!
Not sure which of the four I would take.
That is an impressive collection of water! As far as the ark is concerned – I hope you bike has a mate to take along.
Yes sadly it is. Given the chance I would take all four from my stable.
Wow! How much rain fell?
Do homes have basements there? Heavy rain/basement = not good at all.
Hi Rich, not sure how much came down as it was spread over a number of days.
Generally speaking we don’t have what we call cellars.
