Congratulations to the Lamp and Reflector Challenge Winners!!

With 99.999% confidence in her projection

Helen has stated the  following:

“Due to somewhat unfortunate developments, I have now concluded Hoopeston would not be  an appropriate destination for our winners

The new destination is Brattleboro VT

And further, resenting the representation of being an HOB (Heartless Old Bitty)

I have reversed the awards for the 1st and 2nd prize winners

That said

Brattleboro is a beautiful and fascinating place!

Take a Look:

This great NO EXPENSES PAID Grand Prize  is well deserved for our winners  — and includes some great cycling possibilities as well

Second Prize is one week in Brattleboro, but still a great reward for participation

Thanks to all for participating!

(Even to that one guy who submitted one .. (count ’em ONE) .. measly photo  😉

And now the moment we have all been waiting for:

First Place:   Greg 56 photos

               Second Place:   Nancy   44 photos

I’m certain BobinVT would be happy to be your tour guide

On to the August Challenge!!!!

Tell that HOB I object! Counting photos that don’t include bikes is an abomination and should be punished with two flat tires and a broken chain! I recommend we transfer Helen to our wind turbine inspection field division.

Was the mushroom cloud visible from Santa Rosa?

      • By: Bill Stone Posted: July 31, 2022

Okay, okay, I understand. I only brought this up and attacked Helen in order to cleverly divert attention from my own lack of participation. But I still think it would be good for Helen’s attitude if we dangled her from a few giant wind turbines….

Hmmmm Raise her way up to bring her back down to earth — great idea!!

I THINK, though not positive, the rules set by our current czar stated with or without bike in the photo, I may be wrong on that. That may have been for a previous challenge 🫢.

Yes, while not specifically stated for this challenge, it is just understood to include your bicycle when possible or practical. Again, referencing 365’ers impeccable integrity.

Once Helen recovered from her full blown snit, and Cat 5 tizzy she did concede including the bicycle IS an important part of each photo — adding “when possible and practical” — which it always isn’t.
Additionally, not all of us are as spry as we used to be. 🙂

Wow, that Brattleboro sounds like a great place! I’m gonna have to check that out sometime. 🙂
Seriously, congratulations to the winners, and I would be more than happy to serve as tour guide. Tips gratefully accepted. I do wonder though. Hoopeston does seem to have its own charms. I would love to see it some day.

Brattleboro is definitely worth checking out! 😉
I’ve looked at several of Vermont Bicycle Tour’s Inn to Inn routes in Vermont and they are all beautiful and fascinating.
      Maybe someday . . . . .

Yes, ‘charms’ might be one way of putting it!

I proudly and humbly accept the Grand Prize, and I look forward to visiting Brattleboro. However, there is a slight problem. I budgeted for a no-expenses paid trip to Hoopeston. Unfortunately, I will need to be reimbursed for considerable expenses involved in the sudden change in destination. Where should I send my expense invoices? To Helen? And are the rumors true that she recently got married and changed her name to Helen Wilpayfast?

    • By: Rich-Illinois Posted: August 1, 2022

I’m afraid that vicious rumor is completely false. Check out Snopes . . . . .
While you receive our hearty congratulations on your win, there is and was no provision for preparatory expenses.
We are all quite upset that your presence here isn’t going to happen.
The City Council made elaborate plans for your welcome and visit — they too, will not be reimbursed.
Brattleboro is a far superior destination as you have seen, and with Bob as tour guide I just don’t see how it can get better than that.
If you feel you have a valid grievance please address such to:
      http://gotohelenwaite.

She may not get back to you for a while, last I heard she was suspended from a wind turbine somewhere in Indiana.
In the meantime, enjoy your recognition as Lamp and Reflective Champion!

Maybe Hastings can put up a banner stating such in your honor:

“Local Man Kicks Ass in Bicycling Cycle365 Challenge”
With of course, a giant image of your countenance
