Cycle Days Challenge: September 2020

Yikes, I thought I just posted August and now it’s October.

It’s that time of year again – the days are getting shorter, there’s a chill in the air, and the trees are beginning to turn. But it isn’t freezing cold yet, we have good air quality and no fires, there is nothing to complain about. I just regret that summer passed so quickly and we had so little opportunity to go on bicycle tours.

HERE is the September edition of my bicycle days.

I'm a US born ex-pat, having lived most of my adult life in Munich, Germany. Cycling and photography are my favorite things.

Okay, as much as I like the picture of you and Janos as a couple up above, I must give the award for “Greg’s Favorite Suzanne Picture for the Month of September” to: The photo of the cows marching through the streets.

I also enjoyed reading about your whole tour last week.

Thanks, Greg! Those cows made my day, glad that picture was the winner!

Loved riding in a few cities, especially Copenhagen and Paris, but I much prefer country riding. So glad you’re enjoying your change of address. We just wish we’d done it before we were both over 70.

As they say, it’s never too late – and you are getting out on your bike now. Hope you have a bicycle-friendly fall.

Janos and you look so happy together, combined with a love of cycling, perfect. Might do my own stonesnake one day.

So beautiful. Way too hard for me to pick a favorite — I love them all. But the cow photo is not only a great photo, but the story of the cowhand herding them riding her bike is as unique to me as possible. I love that story.
The partial leg and foot near the snake path is interesting. ;’-)

    Thanks, Nancy!
The leg is part of a sculpture, but to get the full sculpture I would have had less of the stonesnake. I couldn’t find any information on the sculpture though. Too bad we can’t post pictures in the comments because I do have a picture of the complete sculpture.

Amazing photos again! Congratulations on smashing your previous record for days and kilometers bicycled!

Thanks, Rocky! Now I should go for 1,000 km, but that’s not going to happen in the winter, if at all. Maybe next year if we can travel.
It was such a good idea that you got on the road when you did. What an adventure you are having!

I love how the photos show the change in season over the month. Congrats on the days and kms of riding! I love the determination to round up to 800kms, too. It more than makes up for the month where you and the bike were unwell and weren’t able to get out so much. Can’t wait for your autumn October shots.

      Thanks, Em!
Actually I thought I would get more than 800, but on the last day of the month I again came down with that recurring UTI problem. Pure coincidence that I had exactly 800 on the day before.
October will hopefully bring some autumn colors to my rides.
