D-rops from the C-louds in the A-tmosphere

How can I not show you my pictures from my hike on Gauting’s main drag, the Bahnhofstrasse. It was late afternoon and raining when I left. The snow was gone but my bicycle stayed in the garage. This time I challenged myself to take pictures only with my special manual focus lens that produces an interesting blur, but is hard to control, and left the conventional lenses at home.

B-icycle crossing at the construction site. I see a brave c-yclist out in the rain.
D-anger! We have a lane for b-ikes on one side of the road, not very wide or safe in my opinion.
D-azzling a-sphalt
This is Gauting’s not so beautiful B-ahnhofstrasse, but it provides about all the stores I need within walking distance. The C-hristmas d-ecoration lights will be turned on later in the evening.
B-lur and d-istortion
A C-hristmas c-onifer and an a-steroid in front of the old town hall
D-rops of rain illuminated by the car’s headlights
C-hristmas b-ling in a b-lur

I'm a US born ex-pat, having lived most of my adult life in Munich, Germany. Cycling and photography are my favorite things.

Love those shiny night time streets and sidewalks. Blurs work well in some of those too. We now are expecting some snow so I MUST ride today at least!!!

Great photos! The blurs of color really make the scene stand out.

Your Bahnhofstrasse is WAAAAAY nicer than our Bahnhofstrasse — which would be more appropriately named scheißestrasse. 🙂

I think the blur function on your camera makes those pictures look even more Christmas-y.

New lens? Always fun to challenge yourself with your camera. Since I’ve had the vision problem, I’m happy if anything is in focus since I can’t tell through the lens or on the back of the camera. Glad to see someone else post something taken on foot. I am surprised at Gauting…I thought it was a little village and it looks like a city. It is nice when you have stores conveniently located to your home. Mine are not, for the most part.

The lens isn’t new but I haven’t used it much lately since I prefer wide angle for the mostly landscape scenes that I am taking these days. This lens is 45mm. I do like the intentional blur it produces but the trick is to place the focus where you want it. Lots of trial and error involved. As for Gauting – it has a busy main street, many too many cars, but the rest is largely residential and then some fields and woods. We aren’t really in the country but just close to some bits of country. More or less ideal.
