Europe, at the vanishing point

As some of you know already, we’re cutting our tour short and heading home tomorrow. The Covid situation is becoming alarming in Europe, so there’s that of course – but then it’s plenty alarming back home too. There are a couple of other things on our mind calling us back now also, and it’s just time.
Before we leave Europe and October though, here’s one more submission for the month’s challenge, from our ride to Bologna.

It’s a great photo and a good decision. I’m still not caught up on your Cycleblaze journal but my domestic correspondent has kept me updated on the big news. Look forward to seeing you guys back here in Oregon.
Sorry to see you returning to the other side of the big pond, but it was the only sane thing to do. In Germany even hotels are closed to tourists now – not that anyone would want to come to cold Germany. Our hospitals still have a lot of capacity, though. ?
They’re closing hotels to tourists up there? It’s remarkable how fast the situation is exploding. It does feel like we’ve maximized the available experience here and are getting out just before the door slams behind our backs.
