Golden Gate December

Much of the San Francisco Bay Area went under lockdown / stay-at-home / shelter-in-place orders weeks ago. Santa Rosa and Sonoma County followed suit shortly afterward. As of this morning, the entire Bay Area joins the bulk of the state under strict isolation rules.

Nevertheless, I decided it was essential for me to get out and about….

I’m with the good doctor – this essential outing earns my approval also. Great photos, and what a great shirt! I hope Rocky sees this and shops around.

I agree with Scott. Glad you could get out. Sorry Scott, you have enough shirts!

A little civil disobedience once in a while is a GOOD thing — especially when one’s mental health is involved. You took appropriate precautions and, as a result, we got to see some outstanding photos of the bay.

I agree with Scooter. Sounds like just what the doctor ordered. It looks like a beautiful area, and you took some wonderful photos. I’ve been to a few places in California, but San Francisco is not one of them. Hope to get out that way one day. Love that reflection shot in the mirror.

Great photos, probably about as clear views as Ive ever seen.
Especially the view across the Bay with the landmarks identified.
Cold cloudy windy here, Im envious!

Cool shirt too, with the between the lines suggestion that cycling is a reason WHY we can ride in our 70’s 🙂

That looks like a very pleasant ride with some beautiful views on a beautiful day. Even when Melbourne was in one of the world’s strictest and longest lockdowns, they were allowed out for exercise for an hour a day within 5kms of home. Exercise was always include in the restrictions where we would only leave home for one of three reasons. So… I think that fits with essential, good job 🙂

San Fran, well I left my heart there (a little piece anyway in 1986). It was my entry and departure point for my USA trip and I camped in Muir woods first night after crossing the Golden Gate Bridge. Time flies.
PS. Cant believe you’re anywhere near 70.

Thanks to all. I think the ride was essential, and bicycling is definitely allowed, but I suspect the authorities would prefer cyclists not drive an hour to the starting point and then drive an hour to get back home.

    Can’t believe you’re anywhere near 70. Nor can I, but 70 happened.
