GOT ME SOME HAZARDS
My hazards seem quite tame compared to some of you here (Greg), but hazards none the less ;’-).
Most of the sewer covers around here are not like this one, the “bars” are either at an angle or crosswise across the cover. This one can be a tire trap. Not for me as my tires are quite wide, but those road bikes with skinny tires could fit right into those spaces. Fortunately there has been quite a movement to change these to the more bike-safe covers.

For the most part our roads and streets have good wide shoulders/bike lanes. More often than not, those lanes are kept fairly well swept of debris (for example, I have been unable to find broken glass!). That is not always the case however as this debris that was right in my lane could cause big problems if not noticed in time.

Unlike Greg and Bob, we don’t get a lot of snow and ice, and when we do, I choose to not ride in it. We get —- MOSS. This can be quite dangerous as was witnessed by a friend I was biking with when he grabbed his brakes and went down on the moss, causing more than slight injury.

I feel fortunate that there are not lots of hazards where I ride, and I can normally avoid those that are there.

Unable to find broken glass? You sound almost sorrowful about it. I can send you some from down here, if you’d like.
Not ‘sorrowful’, more like boasting ;’-). We do have some areas that end up with broken glass, but it is not abundant. And if one of us calls the county streets cleaning dept. they will usually sweep it up in a timely manor. But it does often take that call to them.
The only crash I had in literally decades came as the result of slimy algae.
The curbs can pose a hazard as well if riding too close to one and striking it with a crank.
I do try to stay a bit away from those curbs ;’-).
Oooh, a maintenance hazard theme. I’ve had some algae incidents hiking on rocks before, but can’t recall that on the bike. I know you have 10 times as much algae as we have where I live though!
Oh yes, algae/moss is EVERYWHERE around here!
