Halloween is Scary

I’m a tough guy, so obviously I don’t scare easily. I mean, I’ve watched such movies as Rosemary’s Baby, The Excorcist, and Young Frankenstein and made it all the way to the end without hardly screaming at all. But on the last day of October, the ghosts and witches and zombies and mummies and vampires and skeletons and spider webs and monsters and jack-o-lanterns and cheeseheads are almost too overwhelming.

How is a guy supposed to enjoy a bike ride with those things all around? Can you blame me for only stopping for three pictures and riding away as fast as I could? Why couldn’t I live in England or Germany, where such creatures do not lurk in every yard?

Skeletons are scary but I usually feel safe in the knowledge I can race away from them on my bike. Now they’ve learned how to ride bikes too. SCARY!

HELP ME! PLEEEEEEEEEASE!

Why do people turn something so harmless as a pumpkin into something so evil as a jack-o-lantern?

Despite all those ghoulish freaks, I managed to find my way back home safe and sound. I started to make my own scary costume. I don’t know why. I guess I just like Halloween.

If THIS costume doesn’t scare people, I don’t know what will.

Hi. My name is Greg and I ride my bike a lot. That is to say, I ride my bike almost every day. I go on long rides and short rides. Sunny rides, cloudy rides, and rainy rides. I like commuting, errand-running, day-tripping, overnighting, and touring on my bike. I ride on city streets, highways, gravel, single track, and snow with equal enthusiasm. Sometimes I ride fast and sometimes I ride slow. I try to keep my feet on the pedals at stop lights and I do not dismount when I hop up on a curb. I have a roadie bike, a mountain bike and a touring bike. I try to accept any challenge a bike ride can throw at me without complaint. But I don't like bugs.

Yikes! Those photos scared the Yell out of me!
Especially that last photo, given the recent lunacy by you know who.
It is a Blue Moon on Halloween, maybe that explains it (him). Not!

Oh no Greg! Are you asymptomatic, or are you catching viruses for immunity, I wonder.
