HAPPY NEW YEAR IN WH ITE

Though I plan for at least a short walk today, here is why I am not riding…and a first entry for January challenge (one of them)

This is an early morning shot (WHy it looks a bit blueish I think) from our front door. See the WHite, cold, icy road?? Though the main roads look kind of ok, except for maybe some hidden black ice, I need to ride on these icy roads to get there. In addition, I don’t ride strictly on main roads — I prefer some back neighborhood roads which all have similarly ice covering under WHite crusty snow. Temps are staying low in the teens and low 20s, with sort of a promise that they will be rising any minute now 🤨.

SIGH!

So pretty, but… I certainly wouldn’t ride. Aside from the ice and snow, that would be too cold for me.

Me too Suzanne. It will undoubtably be a few days before I will feel safe (and not frozen) on my bike.

I like your “wh” word. White is a symbol of cleanliness and purity. I’m not always clean or pure, but it’s a nice thought. My son, who also lives in the Seattle area, just sent me a couple pictures of himself in a snow cave he built. I think I raised him well.

How very un-Northwest of that weather! I hope you can enjoy the beauty of it from inside with a good book and a hot cup of tea. It’s frustrating when you can’t ride, but I think snow is probably better than flood or fire.
