I did not think to take a photo until the food was partially gone! The photo of my bike on the bridge is to show that I had ridden there on my bike ;’-)..

Sandwiches had already been selected by hungry tea drinkers, but there are a few still on the trays ;’-).

Who…who? can wait to take a photo of their scone before beginning to eat it! Not I. My half eaten sconce with preserves and clotted cream…

I really liked that dune backdrop – it looks like a very pleasant spot. The high tea is interesting to see the American version. They do some VERY fancy high teas here and I once chatted to a random guy in a Melbourne public square who worked at one of the famous spots. He was a pastry chef. Some of the sweet pastries they put on those tea plates here, generally on the top ‘shelves’ with the sandwiches on the bottom ‘shelf’, are just so delicate and exquisite. I have a friend who used to take her daughter to high teas – they would get all dressed up and practice their ‘royal manners’.

I’m pretty sure L&M lunch counter didn’t host anything like that, no, I AM sure they didn’t. 🙂

I would not think of this as the highest of high teas! It was a more relaxed version but we had fun and enjoyed it a lot. I have been to a “real” High Tea once and to a bit lesser ones a couple of times. Not matter what they are — I enjoy them.

That all looks so good! I like the bridge shot, too. Hight tea looks like fun.

High Tea time was great fun. I was so relieved to find that there was a sidewalk to use for me and my bike!! Otherwise I doubt if I would have ridden there.

The bridge is really something with those towers.
My experience with anything like High Tea, is, to say the least, extremely limited — it does look good!

High Tea is not for everyone Rich ;’-). But we sure enjoyed it.

After seeing your pictures, I can’t wait to cut the crust off the bread next time I make some sandwiches. The last two times I drank hot tea, I broke out into hot sweats and threw it up within minutes. That’s pretty strange for a guy who drinks lots of hot coffee and quite a bit of iced tea.

Very classy. I avoid high teas as when I start eating cakes I can’t stop.
