Hooked on Radiation

Sounds pretty radio-active, lucky I don't have a pacemaker.
Sounds pretty radio-active, lucky I don’t have a pacemaker.

Well I’m glad that there are 31 days in August and I just managed to sneak a ride up to the television towers before work. I do take my monthly challenge seriously, so I just made it…Pheww.

Well we don’t have any nuclear power stations or weapons anywhere around here so I googled ‘radiation’ and ‘Perth’ and was in for a unpleasant surprise. Ever heard of Radon Gas, it’s radioactive, odourless and can’t be seen, well where I live its the highest in Australia. Apparently it’s worse in the USA because many houses have unventilated basements (especially in Minnesota). It’s natural and emitted from the granite below the surface

Well, I’m heading off for a longish cycle north of here on Friday so I’m cycling all over the place to get my fitness up. It will be about 10 days long to the coastal resort of Kalbarri. Looking forward to hitting the road.

On the Covid 19 front, we so far haven’t had any local transmission and our federal politicians and rich businessmen want to open the borders. Money must be more important than lives.

Happy cranking Cycle-lifers

I don’t think I’m welcome somehow.
The ABC our national broadcaster always have the tallest tower.
Heading down the hill to work, some wildflowers are starting to bloom.

Here’s my song for the monthly challenge. It’ll fry your brain, blow your socks off, make you giggle and dribble uncontrollably, so hold on tight and turn up the pacemaker and hearing aid. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. In fact I challenge Gregblood to listen to it, Is he up to this challenge?

I live in the hills just east of the city of Perth, Western Australia and I've loved cycling all my life, From riding to primary school when I was 8 years old to cycle touring as a grumpy old man. Cycling is freedom on two wheels and I love getting on my bike at any opportunity.

I almost had an epileptic seizure trying to take in everything that was going on in the video. That was one of the weirdest things I’ve ever seen.

Aside from that, good job on your radiation challenge.

Sounds like a great trip ahead to Kalbarri — enjoy!
Radon is an issue here too, especially in the glaciated parts of IL.

Have fun on your trip! I hope you’re going to document it somewhere so we can read all about it. BTW I did make it all the way through the video, but I admit I got a little bored about three minutes in. Well, either bored or overwhelmed.

Enjoy your ride up the coast.

PS: What? Politicians believe money is more important than lives? We don’t have any politicians like that over here. Nope. None.
