I STILL B IN ELK GROVE

I took a longer ride today and though I liked most of it and all of what I saw, there were parts that were not good. That would be the 8-10 miles on 2 roads with high speed traffic and no shoulder/bike lane. The saving grace was the the traffic was a bit on the light side (but still fast) and that the motorists were cautious as they needed to pass me. Then the headwind I battled for the final 10 miles had me bushed at the end. However, it started at 45 degrees and ended at 60 degrees with pure sunshine.

Barbed Wire

Boxes. The route took me by farms and orchards. These boxes are to pack fruit in season.

Bathtub

Bank. I rode through the town of Walnut Grove and found the little town has a bank, an ice cream & sandwich shop, Pizza Factory, and several questionable shops/stores. From here on is where the ride became a bit less enjoyable.

Blue Boat

Bouys I spotted near the boat. Even if there had been more Bs I would not/could not stop for them.

Thanks Bill. I haven’t had time to look at these yet and we will be leaving this mid morning for a visit with friends farther south. I would definitely avoid busy roads if I knew which ones they are and which roads to take instead! I will not do yesterday’s ride again due to that road I was on.

    Lots of good B finds!
The boxes bring back memories of asparagus crates when that was a major crops here.
Wind 🙁 45-55 mph predicted for Thursday

I thought of these as crates when first spying them, but then thought they would work as “boxes” for the challenge ?.
On the road now and never knowing when I will get in another ride. But the weather is rather nice here which is definitely a plus from home!

Pleased you had some lovely warm temps to finish your ride.
We had -4C and freezing fog at 9 this morning, so I didn’t get far today.
