I’D LIKE TO RIDE TO MEET UP WITH A FRIEND
Once a month, when weather allows, I try to bike over for tea time at my friend Ann’s place. It’s been a while and finally there is some good weather coming. However, Ann is unavailable for a our tea time this month. She is near the top of my list for a time in April.
The day after learning that I would not be riding to Ann’s, my friend Vickie who lives on Whidbey Island sent a message that she was coming over to the “mainland” today and could we get together for tea or lunch. YES was my resounding answer.
We arranged to meet at a regular spot very near the ferry landing. Red Cup Cafe. Leaving home was in the somewhat cold late morning but it did get better with some sun breaks as I continued on a longer route home after our lunch.
On the way there the ferry was coming in. The photo, taken from a slight hill top, is quite out of focus but oh well, you get the idea.

I was so excited about meeting for lunch and chatting that I totally forgot to take a photo! This one is pretty bad too, but oh well. The breakfast croissant was very good.

I made a stop at an old favorite on my continued route.

This last one was not actually taken today, but could have been if I had gone down to the ferry landing. ;’) It was taken on the ferry Saturday when we returned from Etienne’s basketball game – a ferry ride away.

I was happy to have gotten in a ride to meet a friend ;’-).

The weathered building complements your bicycle very nicely, and vice versa.
Great you got to tea/lunch after all.
I love that weathered building and make a point to ride down a couple of blocks to pass by it whenever I am on this route. Every time, I hope they will not renovate or paint it and take away all its character. This was a great I’D ride for me.
