In Search of Peepers

Thanks to Bob for the info on Peepers — I had no idea that is what they are really called.  Cycling companion, and former Biology teacher, would call them Peepers, but I thought he was just calling them for the sound they make — which turns out to be right!

Anyway, there are normally some Peepers in a low spot along the railroad but were silent when I passed by.  I also didn’t know they don’t have to have water all the time, just when they spawn , . . . . that low spot does dry up at times.

Well, the less you know the more you can learn.  😉

I did come across these guys:

And this guy who seems rather amorous as Bob suggested:

Now, I’ve got the Time, if they have . . .  Wait, that doesn’t seem right . . . .

Very much enjoy all the entries you all have provided -- great to see the everyday cycling venues. Being in eastern Illinois, scenery certainly isn't our forte, but oh well, the roads are normally quiet. Look forward to more and more entries from all of you, I do have a few over on BL -- in Bill's Day Rides, and one journal.

I used to love those commercials. Those guys look a little large to be peepers though. 🙂

I try and find some non beer drinking frogs, no peepers here of the amphibian variety.
