From the looks of it, we are in for two weeks of below freezing daytime temperatures. So today might have been my last ride for a while. And it was cold enough for me at around 4 C / 39 F. We had some sun but I’m getting fussy now.
We encountered some hazards on our ride through the woods.
Thin ice hazard – it rained and our snow melted. In spite of freezing temperatures again and light snow last night, I doubt that the ice on the pond is very thick. Work of the chainsaw artist: Which is the greater hazard, a possibly poisonous mushroom or someone at large with a chainsaw?I was wondering when we were going to encounter the Big Bad Wolf! Either it’s my red jacket that lured him from behind the trees or he is out to eat up Grandmother (me). When we saw him we hightailed it.

That was particularly sneaky how the wolf was partially hiding behind a tree before it attacked. If I was in your situation, I probably would have sacrificed a certain cartoon character I know. That would have kept the wolf busy eating while I escaped.
I love the big bad wolf 🙂 Glad you escaped and hope the weather warms soon. It’s funny that you post the wolf because I’ve thought a few times that your forest pictures look like a setting for a fairytale or one of the Grimm stories!

Phew, escaped those hazards in fine fettle. That lurking wolf was definitely being sneaky. Good for you to have your eyes peeled!
