It’s A Whole New Ballgame

A major change is taking place on the Minnesota weather scene. The possibility of a brown Christmas is becoming the certainty of a white Christmas, or, as Storm Chaser Greg put it on his last weather alert: People who were singing “I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas” this morning can quit dreaming and start singing “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas” this afternoon. I’ll let Storm Chaser Greg take it from here.

Not only is it 20-degrees colder, as the great storm chaser noted, but the temperature is going to continue to drop down to nearly 0-degrees (F) by tomorrow morning. And the 1-to-2 inches of snow the weather experts were predicting is already over 3″ and it’s still coming down like crazy. And the winds have whipped up BIG TIME. It isn’t one of those pretty Pacific Northwest snowfalls with big fluffy flakes falling straight down.

Dare I say “BLIZZARD?

Hi. My name is Greg and I ride my bike a lot. That is to say, I ride my bike almost every day. I go on long rides and short rides. Sunny rides, cloudy rides, and rainy rides. I like commuting, errand-running, day-tripping, overnighting, and touring on my bike. I ride on city streets, highways, gravel, single track, and snow with equal enthusiasm. Sometimes I ride fast and sometimes I ride slow. I try to keep my feet on the pedals at stop lights and I do not dismount when I hop up on a curb. I have a roadie bike, a mountain bike and a touring bike. I try to accept any challenge a bike ride can throw at me without complaint. But I don't like bugs.

Go inside! Turn up the heat! Make a hot cup of tea! Wrap up in a blanket! Have Diggity curl up in your lap!

I don’t like blizzards. Though we have no snow this morning, the frost is heavier than I have seen recently. And in light of someone taking a fall on yesterday’s club ride (black ice), I will stay buckled in at home as we await our family Zoom gathering, eating, and opening presents. We always do this on Christmas Eve rather than on Christmas Day.

    Stay safe and well everyone.
