Do you know about the Flypaper report?
http://www.cap-lore.com/stories/Flypaper.html
My father — US Navy — told me that story about 60 years ago, but in his longer and more elaborate version it was a bored sailor in the South Pacific during WWII, and caused a formal investigation by officers from the office of the Chief of Naval Operations.
Anyway, your report reminded me of it. Happy hunting!
That is a great story! Formal investigation eh? They said to document everything didn’t they? 😉
Met a guy one time who claimed to be an artist — he said in the summer he draws flies.
We only get the occasional fly in our neighborhood, but as soon as you get out in the country where there are cows it’s a different story!
“Commercial flypaper is said to be more than a century old, invented in 1861 by a German baker who hung a sheet of molasses-coated wrapping paper in his window”

Who knew?
Well who knew that the filthy fly had a month dedicated to it!! As with Suzanne, we are fortunate to not have a lot of flies around except when we are camping near standing water or other attracting things.
Very entertaining reading from you and from Bill ;’-)
