Let there be light

Here you have my brilliant, enlightened and illuminated post from a dedicated lamp-and-reflector ride. I didn’t do many kilometers but I sure came home with a lot of pictures. These are my highlights.

The first group of photos is a sampling of street lamps.

Standard lighting on Bahnhofstrasse

Just when I was thinking that most lamps on buildings are either boring or hidden, I saw these.

It’s actually our neighbor, I almost overlooked it.

For some reason I was intent on getting railroad-related lights.

The S-6 front lights
Rear lights, S-6 on its way to Gauting Bahnhaof
At the station
Another one at the train station

Of course bicycle lamps must be included.

In the daytime I also ride with lights on to be better seen.
I liked these colors.
In Germany functioning front and rear lights are required. However, on the bikes I looked at parked at the train station today many had no lights. Commuters are wise not to park good bikes at the station.

I also found a few reflecting materials and surfaces.

Here I got everything – my bicycle lamp, street lights and hi-viz overalls with reflecting cuffs.

It threatened to rain today so I was able to sport the the biggest reflector of all, the rain jacket I got this year. It really shines, day or night.

I'm a US born ex-pat, having lived most of my adult life in Munich, Germany. Cycling and photography are my favorite things.

The Modern street lamp with all the mirrored reflections is really great!
Also, the neighbor’s wrought iron lamp — are there a lot of those around?
The bicycle headlight looks like the same one I have on the Huffy — from Amazon with free shipping . . . . . and 90 days later it arrived! For free 😉
Cant get better than the ‘Everything’ photo!
    A most excellent presentation!

Oh, the jacket is a great idea. I hadn’t thought of that. And great assortment of street lights.

Well girl, we don’t get any photos from you for the challenge and then BOOM here are a ton! All great, and the overgrown light is somewhat a favorite for me. Welcome home from yet another of your little tours, nice to see you back but it was equally nice following you on your tour.
