OK – so I am house bound and have been for most of this week. This morning at 9:30 out my front door looks like this…

That is not fog or heavy mist. It is smoke from the wildfires that have yet to be put out! It has gotten worse everyday this week, and they tell us that tomorrow’s rain will help clear the air a bit and help a little (a little) to dampen the wildfires. AQI this morning: 195; 235 on another site. Worst in the WORLD. It was in high 200s yesterday.

No riding of course, so I am posting a ”holiday themed” photo that I took not long ago while riding in my neighborhood.

The ”stump” comes through again.

Happy cycling all — stay safe and well.

Looks like a seasonal decoration to me — Helen heartily approves as well.

And now the rain — as welcome as it is by us all, that will continue to hamper my daily bike rides ;’-).

The owners of the stump sure are some festive people. Good for them. I hope that smoke clears out of there soon. I’ll have to check with my son and see how bad the smoke is down where he lives (in Covington.)

I love that they do this and thus make at least a monthly ride for me to come to see ;’-). I was fortunate to meet them one day as they strollered their Grands home from a walk. I thanked them for their displays and they told me a bit of its story. Their kids climbed and played on this tree all their growing up years and when it had to be cut down the grown kids asked if there was a way of saving at least a part of it. The worked with the tree cutters and came up with this ‘bench’. Great story.

Bit of smoke here too, getting ready for our bushfire season. We have a visitor here from Washington which I,ll be showing around. Her name is Janet from Cycleblaze.

I guess we now have a ‘wildfire season’., or ‘smoke season’ too. Janet from Washington — I don’t know her but I know she will have a great time with you giving her a tour ;’-).
