One More Collection

Went out for a chilly 25 degree (F) ride this morning and noticed this collection of donated food at a local farm stand.

Ride today: 12.3 miles

Glad you got a beautiful, sunny day to get out, even if a little chilly. Looks like your snow has melted/been rained away. It must be very satisfying to live in a community that has the spirit to do a food donation station – lots of people are struggling at the moment, so I’m sure it’s appreciated.
Yes, it was nice to be out. Most of the snow is gone. It’s pretty crazy to lose two feet of snow cover in 24 hours. There were a few icy patches on the road, but it was still a great ride. It is nice to live in a caring community. Unfortunately, there’s a lot of need in this area, even in non-Covid times.
Well, that’s an inspiring photograph. Thanks! We need to see more of that.
This same stand was doing free breakfast every Saturday all summer long, socially distanced and outside of course.
That Holiday Food Shelf really is a nice idea. I’ve noticed that a number of Little Free Libraries around here are now stocked with canned goods.
We have those little free libraries around as well, and I’ve also seen some this year with some canned food in them.
This might just be the best collection of all ?. I have seen only a couple of “free pantries”, as they have been called, around here. Such a great idea.
And I was not even particularly looking for collections that day. Seemed like a very nice surprise.
Very nice.
Thanks Bill!
Losing 2 feet of snow in 24 hours is amazing! Vermont have chinook winds or something similar?
Holiday Food Shelf is a great idea, we have a food pantry in the Township building, but its only available at certain times on certain days.
Temperatures close to 60 F and 2-3 inches of rain did the trick. And windy.
