Pedaling north for work

I saw Jeff (not my local buddy Jeff) standing on the corner down by the Safeway supermarket with a touring rig and a cardboard sign asking for help. Jeff, his Surly Disc Trucker, Brooks saddle, Ortlieb panniers, Topeak Road Morph pump, and other gear all look like they’ve been on the road for a very long time, and he definitely knew all the touring cyclist lingo. He told me he has work waiting for him in Oregon, then he hopes to ride across the Northern Tier route. I made a contribution, wished him well, and reminded him to ride safe.
