Quietly Persistent Roadrunner

We’ve had a good run of interesting wildlife viewings here in Tucson – a six pack of peccaries, stilts in triplicate – but I don’t think anything will top yesterday’s experience when I biked my age in miles.  We stopped on the trail to admire the roadrunner jerkily working his way through the cholla and creosote when it looked up, saw us, and started ambling straight toward us.  He stopped right in front of Rachael, looked up to see if we’d brought treats, and then moved on.

This is just a placeholder for now. I’ll add a real description when I get more time.
